ARCHER'S UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS STUDENT CHALLENGE WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 20 : Hosted by the Texas Wranglers, Archer's Challenge comes to the University of Texas at Austin at 8:00AM on Wednesday. Students and faculty at UT will attend classes, teach, and navigate campus in wheelchairs. Last year over 500 people participated in the sold-out event. The Challenge will start and finish in front of PCL Library. Check back for updates - r egistration will be opening soon. ARCHER'S DOWNTOWN AUSTIN CHALLENGE 2018 RECAP : More than 200 people joined Archer for an immersive event that celebrated and promoted accessibility in public spaces. The Challenge began at 12 p.m. at Austin City Hall in D owntown Austin. Participants were fitted for manual wheelchairs and then ventured off to spend their day exploring the 2nd Street District with multiple fun stops along the way. The course included stopping by local coffee shops, shopping at local retail shops, and a photo opportunity at the Paramount Theater under the marquee. Participants ended the Challenge at Austin City Hall by 4 PM. After a long day, participants celebrated their success by enjoying food and beverages, live music, a game or two of corn-hole and a meet and greet with Mayor Steve Adler. ARCHER'S H-E-B EMPLOYEE CHALLENGE : Archer's Challenge is grateful to announce that H-E-B Tournament of Champions is our presenting sponsor. H-E-B has participated requested 100 wheelchairs at 10 central Texas stores. During a Challenge, employees at each store will get shopping lists. They will shop in wheelchairs with a shopping basket on their laps and go through checkout. H-E-B will generously donate the purchased items to the Central Texas Food Bank. ​ ARCHER'S ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE EMPLOYEE CHALLENGE : The iconic Alamo Drafthouse has hosted Archer's Challenge for two consecutive years. Drafthouse employees at all six Austin Area Alamo Drafthouse cinemas, along with the corporate office, will participate in Archer’s Challenge. The Challenge will include completing the following tasks, entering and exiting the parking facilities, buying tickets, watching a movie, ordering food, and using the restroom, while in wheelchairs.
